Use Google Adsense to monetize your website through Google ads

Note: This is not recommended for Affiliate sites !

For Adsense you want to target the highly competative, expensive keywords. Don’t change your strategy for your URL and title, but use these expensive keywords in your headings, anchored text links and bolded text. Google does not allow more than 3 Adsense blocks on a website if you want to stay in the running.

General Topic or Niche

You can build your website around general informative topics or niche ones. Overall, niche websites work best with adsense. First off, the ad targeting is much better. Secondly, as you are focussed on the subject, your writing becomes more expert-like by nature. Hopefully this makes you more of an authority in your field.

If you are going to build an adsense niche website, make it about something you enjoy. It will make the process much easier and less boring to accomplish. You should however make sure that your topic has enough of an ad inventory. You may love Chinese culture, but the number of advertisers for that topic is probably zero.

Once you understand how Adsense works on a website, you’ll want to start using some high paying keywords, but this does comes with a catch. First off, the level of fraud is much higher on the expensive search terms. Secondly, there is a distortion of the supply and demand relationship for these terms. We all want ads on our site that make $ 35.- or more per click, but the number of advertisers who are willing to pay that much isn’t that high. Plus the competition for that traffic is tough.

When you Create New websites

When you’re building a new site, wait with putting adsense blocks on it until everything else is finished. In fact, I’d go even farther and say don’t put adsense on it until you have put in all your external links and started getting visitors. It may take days or weeks for google’s media bot to come back to your page and get the ads properly targeted.

Use Images on your Adsense Niche Website

One of the latest ’secrets’ to a succesful Adsense Niche site seems to be using images alligned with an adsense block. Basically, you put the adsense code in a table with four images that line up directly with the ads. Whether or not this is deceptive it’s very subjective. Obviously four blinking arrows would encourage people to click and would also be against the adsense rules, but pictures of 4 cars over car ads isn’t. So be creative here and put yourself in the shoes of the advertiser or Google.
